この部屋は虎之間といい、竹林に憩う虎の親子が描かれています。 このように勇猛な虎を玄関の障壁に描くのは、武家住宅の装飾として一般的で、その武家的装飾法が寺院建築にも影響を及ぼした例ともいわれております。 長年の風化で絵具の剥落や退色が激しかったものを、平成24年、2012年の親鸞聖人七百五十回大遠忌法要を機縁として、創建当初に描かれた虎の絵の保存を図るため、障壁画の復元模写画の制作事業を行いました。赤外線カメラや成分分析によって得られたデータをもとに描かれています。

21 虎之間 這個房間被稱為"虎之間"。表現了在竹林中休息的老虎母子的各種姿態。在玄關處畫猛虎的壁畫本來是常見於武士住宅的。可見當時的武士門第裝飾風格對寺院建築裝飾也算是影響至深。 因長年風化作用，使得原本的繪畫作品早已出現了剝落和退色的現象。於是，在2012年，借親鸞聖人七百五十年大遠忌之機，為了保護創建之初的繪畫作品不受損壞，將原作進行了紫外線攝影和成分分析，對其製作了複製品，並對其表面進行了重新描畫。

21 도라노마 이 방은 도라노마라고 하여 죽림에서 휴식을 취하는 어미 호랑이와 새끼 호랑이를 그린 것입니다. 이렇듯 용맹한 호랑이를 현관 장지에 그리는 것은 일반적으로 무사가택의 장식으로 무가적인 장식법이 사원건축에도 영향을 준 예라고 할 수 있습니다. 오랜 세월의 풍화로 물감이 닳거나 퇴색된 것을 2012년 신란 성인 750주기법요를 기연으로 창건 당시에 그려졌던 호랑이 그림을 보존하기 위해 장벽화를 복원 제작하였습니다. 적외선 카메라와 성분 분석으로 얻은 데이터를 토대로 그린 것입니다.

21 Chamber of Tigers Creating a sense of power, the Chamber of Tigers is said to have been used as an entryway into the Shoin Chambers. It was likely to have been an area without a roof, exposed to the elements, resulting in quicker aging of the panels. As a restoration project in commemoration of the 750th Memorial for Shinran Shonin, ultraviolet photos of the original panels were taken in order to create new panels of the originals. In addition to the paintings of tigers resting and playing in the bamboo forest, images of leopards were recognized and were added to the new paintings which were completed in 2012.

21 Tora-no-Ma (Sala dos Tigres) A sala dos Tigres é entrada das salas Shoin. A figura de tigres era comum para a entrada das salas nos castelos dos samurais, ela devia mostrar a força e deixar os visitantes com medo. O tigre não é o animal nativo do Japão, os artistas pintaram imaginando como poderia ser o animal. Um soldado deve ter se vestido com a pele do tigre e servido como modelo. Por essa razão, os tigres aqui parecem humanos. Veja os ombros e os rostos deles. Esta sala é considerada a mais antiga das Salas Shoin. Os desenhos mostram os tigres que descansam num bambuzal.
