25 Yellow Crane Bathhouse As one of the points of interest within the garden, Okakudai translates as the Yellow Crane Bathhouse. Connected to the right side of the Hiunkaku by a steep wooden corridor, the Okakudai includes a small changing room adjoined to a larger room which houses a steam bath, said to have been developed in the sengoku period which was a time of constant warfare. The floor of the bath is made of lattice, allowing steam to come through. To avoid sitting directly above the steam simmering through the panels, a cloth was placed on the wooden panels to sit on while bathing. This is said to be the origin of the term furoshiki, which in present-day, is a decorative cloth used to wrap gifts.

25 Ôkaku-Dai Ao lado direito do Hiunkaku, está o Ôkaku-dai, é a casa do banho. Há dois espaços no recinto, o primeiro está na entrada com tatamis, e outro mais adentro, é forrado de madeira que serve para o preparo do banho, e no seu canto uma casinha com telhado que é a sauna. Diferente da sauna à vapor de hoje, a água é fervida debaixo do forro, e o vapor sobe pelos intervalos da madeira. Para se tomar o banho, coloca-se um pano em cima da madeira, chamado de "Furoshiki (literalmente o pano de ofurô)", e que este hoje se tornou o pano de embrulho.
