26.鐘楼(Bell Tower)

高さ約3ｍにも及ぶ石垣の上に建つのが鐘楼です。 鐘は、仏事を知らせるためのものとして、古くから寺院で用いられており、本願寺でもその音が門前に響き渡るように、築地塀に近く、より高いところに釣られています。 建築年代の特定はできませんが、記録によると、江戸時代前期の慶長16年、1611年の親鸞聖人350回大遠忌に先立って改修し、その後２度にわたる移転があり現在の場所に移ったとあることから、少なくとも400年近い年月を経ており、本願寺の境内では最も古い建物といえます。 平成10年、1998年の蓮如上人500回遠忌法要を機に修復が行われました。

26 鐘樓 鐘樓建在一座3米高的石牆上。自古以來寺院都是使用梵鐘來為法會報時。為了使鐘聲響徹四方，本願寺將梵鐘高高懸掛於離外牆最近的地方。 關於鐘樓的初建年代已無法查證。據記載，江戶時代前期的1611年在紀念親鸞聖人三百五十回大遠忌之前曾對其進行過修復，之後也曾經歷過兩次遷移，後來才遷移到現在的這個位置。這樣推算起來這座鐘樓至少要有近400年的歷史，算得上是本願寺境內最古老的建築。 1998年，為了紀念蓮如上人500回遠忌也曾對其進行過修復。

26 종루 높이 약 3m에 달하는 돌담 위에 세워진 종루입니다. 종은 불사를 알리기 위한 것으로서 예로부터 사원에서 사용되었습니다. 혼간지에서도 종 소리가 주위에 울려퍼지게 하기 위해 축지담에 가깝고보다 높은 곳에 종을 매달아 놓았습니다. 건축연대를 특정할 수는 없지만 기록에 의하면 에도시대 전기인1611년의 신란 성인 350주기 기일에 앞서 복원되어 그 후 두 번의 이전을 거쳐 지금의 장소로 옮겨 졌습니다.이로보아 적어도 400년 가까운 세월이 흐른 것으로 추정되며 혼간지 경내에서는 가장 오래된 건물이라고 할 수 있습니다. 1998년의 렌뇨 상인 500주기 기일을 계기로 수리를 하였습니다.

26 Bell Tower Standing atop a 3 meter high stone platform is Hongwanji's Bell tower. This bell is tolled on occasion during the day, to indicate the beginning of a service as well as mark the time of day. For instance, it is tolled at 5:30 AM, one half hour prior to the start of the daily morning service, which commences at 6am, and its resonance marks the start of the day. It is unknown when the Bell tower was first constructed, but it has been relocated within the Hongwanji grounds on several occasions. Records reveal that it was restored during the 350th Memorial for Shinran Shonin in 1611 and again in 1998 for the 500th Memorial for Rennyo Shonin, which confirms that it is at least 400 years old, making it the oldest remaining structure within the Hongwanji complex today. The original bell, has the same dimensions and shape as the bell at the Byodoin Temple in Kyoto's Uji city. It was lowered due to its age and historical significance and this 2.5 ton bell is now on display in front of the An'nonden.The bell that currently hangs in the bell tower was newly created during the 500th Memorial for Rennyo Shonin.

26 Shôrô (Campanário) O Campanário está na base de pedras com altura de três metros. O sino Bonshô é usado para informar a aproximação do ofício religioso. Não tem registro da data de sua construção, porém, foi reformado na ocasião de trezentos e cinquenta anos em memória de Shinran Shonin em mil seiscentos e onze. Foi transferido duas vezes para chegar finalmente ao local atual. É considerada uma das construções mais antigas no Hongwanji.
